Q: Where are you located?
A: Our distribution center is located in sunny Las Vegas, NV.
Q: How do you clean up a broken Galileo?
A: Clean up for the liquid inside the Galileo thermometer is done simply with warm, soapy water. It is an oil-based liquid, so extracting as much as possible with either a carpet or floor cleaner is optimum. Discard all glass pieces.
Q: My Galileo thermometer broke. Can I repair it?
A: Unfortunately a Galileo thermometer cannot be repaired once it has been broken. Replacement is your only option.
Q: Can I buy replacement Galileo thermometer temperature spheres?
A: No.
Q: How long does it take to receive an order?
A: We aim to ship all orders received before 12:00 pm PST, Monday through Friday. Standard shipping is via Fedex Ground Home Delivery and travel takes approximately 6-10 business days. Q: How do you read the temperature?
A: The lowest floating sphere in the cylinder is the one you read for temperature, i.e., if the lowest floating temperature sphere's tag reads 72°, the ambient temperature around the thermometer is 72° within 2° accuracy.
Q: To what countries do you ship?
A: We ship anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States. We can also ship to Alaska and Hawaii for an additional charge. Please call before ordering for shipping costs to Alaska or Hawaii.
Q: My Galileo thermometer is not reading temperature properly. What can I do?
A: Sometimes the liquid inside a Galileo thermometers needs to be "reset". Simply place your thermometer in a freezer for one hour. When time is up, take the thermometer out, gently flip it a couple of times, then llet is set on a secure flat surface to thaw. The thermometer should return to normal function.
Q: My Newton Gravity Glass Timer rises to the top of the cylinder too quickly. What's wrong?
A: Your Newton Gravity Timer is designed to float to the top of the cylinder while the sand inside the timer is dropping. The time for each timer is measured by how long it takes for the sand to drop, not for the timer to rise.
Q: Do you gift wrap?
A: Gift wrapping is not available at this time.
Q: I requested a gift card with my order, but the recipient just received my note on a packing slip. What happened?
A: We are happy to include custom notes on packing slips for your orders. Unfortunately we are unable to change the verbiage in our store to reflect that an actual card is not included.
Q: How does a radiometer work?
A: The Solar Radiometer is designed with vanes that spin on top of a pin. Vanes which face each other are colored either silver or black, which cause a propelling power when exposed to solar (warm) light. The more light that is absorbed by the vanes, the faster they spin, upwards to 3,000 revolutions to minute!
Q: What if my item arrives damaged?
A: We will happily replace your broken item or refund your credit card if you call or email us within 48 hours of receiving your order. Broken items are to be held for 21 days so we may place a damage claim with Fedex. Items which are discarded cannot be replaced or refunded.
